DTF transfers to colored polyester can present challenges because of dye migration, which is the transfer of the dye from the polyester fabric to the image after heat application. This can lead to discoloration of the image that's heat applied to the garment. For example, if dye migration occurs when transferring an image to a red polyester garment, it can result in the image having a red or pink tint.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDye migration can be eliminated or reduced by changing the application settings for the transfer. Transfers to cotton and most blends can be applied at 330 degrees F (166 degrees C) for 15 - 20 seconds. Polyester garments should be pressed at 275 degrees F (135 degrees C) for 10 seconds.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlease note that testing should be done before production begins as dyes react differently at varying temperatures. The transfer of the dye may still occur with certain fabric brands or types.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eApplication Instructions:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSet heat press temperature to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C).\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePress fabric without transfer for five seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eApply transfer with firm pressure for ten seconds.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWait for film (Part # SF-164) to cool completely.
